Duripant, the first stop on my journey, with Vilhjalmur starting out in station. I am told by Aura to undock, and warp to retrieve my very first ship, the venerable Velator. She's not much to look at, but she'll do for now. The Federal Navy Acadamy was kind enough to let me use their docking facilities.
Duripant is one of the Gallente starting systems, with a plethora (well, about 30) newbies blundering around while I was exploring. Wanting to try out the New Player Experience, I do Aura's bidding, and go retrieve my Freedom of Operation License, reminding me of the human rights the Gallente Federation cherishes, and which I will be violating regularly in my capacity as a Capsuleer. True to form, I then dash into my combat basics, demolishing a fuel depot, and executing two supposed pirates without any sort of evidence or criminal conviction. Hooray freedom!
I dispose of the fuel depot, making no effort to determine whether anyone remains inside, nor considering whether or not the depot is vital to the economy of said deadspace pocket. Or that's what I would be saying, had I remembered to fit my ship.

With the main early tutorials finished, there was just one point of interest left to see in Duripant: the Rogue Cloning Facility, which I had never seen before. Relatively unimpressive to the trained eye, this site seems to provide a good supply of low-level rats to practice those combat skills on. Very quickly, I have doubled my wallet to over 10,000 ISK, and collected a handful of civilian modules which may come in handy.
And with that, my exploration of Duripant is at an end, and I get ready to move on to the next system.
On to the next one! |
If you have read this already, and are considering continuing to read, I will be looking into getting an RSS feed set up at some point. Also, if you have not played EVE:Online but would be interested in it, you can be a total dude and check it out using my referral link here: EVE 30 Day Trial. As a money grubbing whore, I will also mention that if you wish to donate isk to help fund this venture you may do so by donating to Vilhjalmur Stefansson in-game. I will give a shout-out to any character donating over 100 million isk, and any character donating over 100 million ISK will also get to name my ship for a day (nothing which will get me banned will count as a ship name)
this was very intresting
